Sands End Adventures in Creativity
Sands End Adventures in Creativity is seeing Write-London, SEAPIA, SEACC, Tideway and Dr Edward & Bishop Kings Charity (DEBK) collaborate with young residents of Sands End to explore their own creative identity in various forms of written and visual art.
The project is being delivered through a series of workshops held at the Sands End Associated Projects in Action building. All the young people taking part are residents of Sands End aged 7-13 and frequent SEAPIA.
The topics being explored are poetry, short stories, life writing and some visual art. The workshops are guided by those taking part, giving everyone the chance to choose what interests them.
On May 7th at 4pm Sands End Arts & Community Center (Peterborough Rd, London SW6 3EZ) is hosting the Young Writers Spring Showcase and the launch of the first series of Young Writers of Sands End Postcard Poems.
A book of work created during the project by the young people will be launched in September. This allows their creative vision to be showcased to the local community and to the young authors’ peers who may be interested in partaking in future projects.
